Why did you choose your industry?I chose the agri-food and export industry to bridge the gap between African food producers and international markets, ensuring their products gain the visibility and success they deserve.
Who are your typical clients?African and Afro-descendant agri-food entrepreneurs, SMEs, and brands looking to expand internationally, as well as investors and institutions supporting African food trade.
What do you like best about being in this industry?I love showcasing Africa’s rich culinary heritage to the world and helping brands grow beyond their local markets while preserving their authenticity.
What are common problems you see?Limited access to international distribution, lack of branding expertise, complex regulatory barriers, and difficulty in securing investment for scaling.
What advice/tips do you have for clients?Build a strong brand identity, understand your target market’s needs, and prioritize strategic partnerships to scale effectively. Quality and consistency are key to long-term success.
When is your busy season?Our busiest periods are during major trade shows, international buyer seasons, and the launch of new export campaigns, typically Q2 and Q4.
What keeps you up at night?Ensuring African brands I support achieve long-term success in international markets despite logistical, financial, and branding challenges.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?Through strategic partnerships, B2B networking, industry events, content marketing, and thought leadership in Afrofood branding and export strategies.
How involved are you in the community?I mentor entrepreneurs, organize Afrofood networking events, and support initiatives that promote African food brands globally.
